The art of photography impresses me with its power in two different stages.
Where I look at pictures from my own life I appreciate how, with one glance, it can take me back into the captured moment, awakening the memories and emotions that were felt in time. Like a jar that contains the energy on the past stored on a small piece of paper or even a small mount of data on my device.
Where I see pictures taken of moments I wasn’t present, the art for me is if it can transport the energy still onto the observer. Making me feel something unknown and inexplicable, giving a glance into a different world.
The collection here is trying both, storing the memories for me and people I shared those moments with and at times having the power to awaken emotions and wonders in curious observers.
