The circumstances that brought me here, to this place, this point in my life and the people that I am surrounded with is a purely magical story and one to tell in its full length in a different format. The most special feeling that arriving on PachamamaFarms in Goa gave me, is one I have for only the second time in my life – going somewhere to stay, not with the intention of temporary visit for one reason or another, but having in mind that this will be the place where I set up my life for the foreseeable future. Arriving in a place fully because this is the place I want to be in not because I am looking for an experience or have to get a task done.
The backstory to this is me being moved out to the suburbs of cologne with my family at the age of 7. There I never wanted to be, always just remember the thought of, ‘I have to get my general education done, grow up to be independent and then I can leave’. The friends I hung out with where not really my people but there to keep me entertained throughout my time here. I remember deliberately connecting to my then best friend for my entire time in the village, because he lived up the road and that was just a convenient person to be close to. While spending all my money on trips whenever it would be possible, fighting hard to spend 6 months abroad in a school exchange and exploring many places around the world during the holiday times, I left Germany one week after my Abitur (equivalent to A-levels after 13 grades of general and specific education). During the following 8 years I only lived with the intention of really staying in the place once, when I moved to Edinburgh (Scottland) with my fiancé at the time. Around that I had set up temporary bases in Barcelona (Spain), Manchester (England), San Cristobal (Mexico), Cologne (Germany), Essaouira and Imsouane (Morocco), Hiriketiya (Sri Lanka) and Bhagsu (India), as well as travelling much of central and south Europe, Morocco, Brazil, Mexico, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
Always in the flow of life, that carried me through these places, looking to get to explore me and the world I am living in. Sometimes running from a place sometimes being pushed towards the next one with immense curios energy.
Now I came back to India, on a Business Visa, signing a lease on a big house and setting up a legal Partnership to carry the Pachamama Community Farm and Commune, ready to be here as long as it all flows and not thinking about packing my bags anytime soon, I am here, now. This is a very special feeling to me I don’t have a lot of experience with, and I am blessed to see that also in this, there is no fears, no distraction, and no conflict in my path. I knew this time would come, where I come across a situation that will catch me and turn my live around from visiting to creating a space where likeminded people visit. Pretty much exactly twenty years I have been collecting impressions, skills and experiences here and there and everywhere I went, to now put these seeds into the ground that I resonate with most, to grow a garden for everyone to enjoy.
